IR Division

The Institutional Research Division manipulates EIS student demographic and course enrollment files to provide data reporting to federal and state agencies, develop ad hoc reports for University administrators, respond to external surveys such as U.S. News & World reports, support the Academic Program Review Process, and provide reporting data for accreditation and external grant submissions.

Institutional Data Resources

UNT Fact Book--An annual publication of the IR&E office based on fallenrollments, the Fact Book provides detailed information onenrollments, admissions, credit hours,degrees awarded, faculty,finances, and Libraries, staff, and facilties.

Common Data Set--The Common Data Set Initiative is a collaborative effort between publishers and the educational community to improve the qualityand accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student'stransition into higher education. . Questions and definitions used by the U.S. Department of Education in its college surveys are a guide in the development of CDS items.

18 Characteristics ofTexas Public Doctoral Programs--The 18 Characteristics of Doctoral Programs weredeveloped by the Graduate Education Advisory Committee to create a snapshot of all doctoral programs at public universities and health-related institutions. The information is intended to provide information to the institutions for self-improvementand to serve as a guide to members of the general public who are interested in doctoraleducation, such as prospective students and their families
